My Art
I've always been creative and as a child I was continually drawing and painting. My art teacher at school Hilary Todd recognised my talents and encouraged me to apply for art college, unfortunately I was unsucessful and went on to do other things with my life and stopped making art for many years. Many years later I realised that my creativity needed to be fulfilled so in 2003 I joined a local art club in Suffolk and since this time have continued with my passion for painting and drawing.
The year 2011 was the turning point for my art. It was the year I developed my own style and felt that I had achieved what was right for me. This was in part inspired by a house move which allowed me the space to create my own studio and to live surrounded by the beautiful Suffolk countryside. I paint mainly in watercolour and also draw in pencil, finding that my passion is for nature, mainly flowers, leaves and trees and I am often inspired by my own garden, being a keen gardener or by the countryside around where I live. |
